Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK in Purple Smoke, Wild Orchid, Milky Tea, Cinder Rose and Buttermilk
Hook: 4mm

• st/sts - stitch/stitches

• ch sp - chain space
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch

Pattern
Written in US crochet terms
Using Purple Smoke, make a magic circle
Row 1:
• ch 3, dc 2 into magic circle
• *ch 2, dc 3 into magic circle* 3 times
• ch 2, sl st to top of starting ch and pull the tail end to close the circle
Row 2:
• ch 3, dc into next 2 sts
• (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) into corner ch sp
• *dc into next 3 sts, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) into corner ch sp* 3 times
• sl st to top of starting ch, fasten off
Other Squares:
• repeat rows 1 - 2 another 3 times, using Wild Orchid, Milky Tea and Cinder Rose
Joining:
• using Buttermilk, hold 2 squares right sides together and join into a corner ch sp
• sc to next corner ch sp, going through both squares at the same time
• repeat for other 2 squares, then repeat for the 2 pairs
Border:
• using Buttermilk, join to any side, ch 1
• *sc to next corner ch sp, (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner ch sp* 4 times
• sc to end, sl st to first sc
Fasten off and weave in ends. Use a Blocking Board to get neat edges, consistent sizes and a great finish to your square!
